What is it?
Sessions oriented to learn the Contact Improvisation (CI) dance regarding sensations, ideas, and emotions.
We strongly believe in the therapeutic power of practicing CI because it exposes us to situations, which defy conventional social codes about body, intimacy, expression and trust borders.
The music, mental images and the CI Technic are the driving wires in these inner travels/sessions where the aim is to align what we are doing, thinking and felling.
Create the conditions to be able to realize what happen to us related with what is happening while dancing, while living.
What we do in a CI session?
The work starts by a ‘centering’ that is an accompaniment to a meditation state to land taking the look to the sensations we perceive. Through this corporal conscience we initiate a ‘warming’ as entrance to the movement, with a first step of ‘nutrition’ through self-massage, stretching, shared massage and easy movements mostly in the ground to find the paths which help us to experiment and understand in our bodies the basics of the CI technic.
From simple technical exercises we will acquire CI abilities (hearing, weight conscience, gravity center conscience, muscle tone, relaxation in movement, etc.). This heads to more intense moments, to the game, space and group conscience as one unique tissue; working in solos, duos and in groups.
During all the session we put attention to the ‘inner landscape’, everything you can fell, guessing, picking out: what body sensations do I have? What do I reject? What do I desire? What is new in what am I doing? What can I do that I have not done yet? Where do I need to establish my limits to keep sharing what is happening to me? What is telling me another person with the movement? Which place do I stand in this group? What do I need and how can I ask for it?
In every session we count with a time-space to improvise with the previous taught technics where participants can enjoy free dancing.
We close the work with the ‘sharing the experience’, recreating the experience dancing through words, paintings, writing or the silence.
The main purpose is to improve and enlarge our movement records and welfare. Tune our sensations hearings to be more confident in our decisions and relationships. We find with ourselves and with the world through movement because we dance as we live and we live as we dance.
The CI aims to collect everything that arises from the person. We integrate making room for everything.

Integrative contact and Improvisation
We will work over the following topics
-
The entrance to the body: body conscience. Stretching, tone exercises, relaxation exercises. The weight concept, projection, spatial location.
-
The hearing: perception through the senses.
-
The contact and disengagement: licenses and limits which we establish in the relation.
-
The looking: quality of the looking. What it is what I decide or not to look? Focus and blur. The inner look. The outside.

The Contact Improvisation was born in the 70’s in the EEUU. It started researching how the human body in movement and related with another one is submitted to physic laws (mainly gravity). Its study and evolution has taken influences from other practices related with the movement.
The CI technic is oriented to create a physical game area with limitless options where our senses are the main canals to inspire the next movement. Its improvised condition allows to focus on the immediate instant, on the Here and Now. .
Is a dance which tune the hearing, decisions, proposals, needs, creativity and body potentiality. A vehicle to link with the outside from the inner landscape we are. CI searches for the easiest way and always taking as good enough the movements of every participant.

Content
In every session we will work CI Technic to reinforce the harmonic and fluid movement to be more efficient and effortless.
